Landing at Kaflavik was an exciting moment as our tour manager Mukesh and Pilot Hrenns greeted us with instructions and few warnings that would help us make the best of our visit over the next 10 days. If you are wondering where in the world is Iceland, here is a map showing its location in Europe With a comparatively small population of less than 400,000 people with 80% living in the capital of Reykjavik, the country combines a mix of pristine landscapes, focus on sustainable development combined with modern facilities and and some interesting experience for the discerning traveler. Wondering how the two words are connected! Well we boarded an amphibian boat to see the mighty icebergs on the lake. As the name suggests, its a boat that can travers on both land and water as it has wheels. Perhaps a good mode of transport for our own waterways.
Through gusty winds and bleak weather with a red alert not to go near the beach, the morning starts with a visit to the Black Beach in southern Iceland, The red alert gradually turns to orange, and the gates open for us to go near the beach, Some interesting opportunities for landscape photography with the massive waves lashing the shore giving a special mood here!. This is followed by a visit to a Lava field
