A Whale of a Time

 One of the highlights of the trip was whale watching at Eyjafjordur, a beautiful  at Akureyri  in a comfortable boat with numerous decks for the  numerous whale watchers on board, From the warmth and comfort of the cabin, most of us are on the upper deck despite the cold and windy temperature waiting with bated breath for the whales while our guide gives us very interesting information abot the Fjord and the whales, The scenery as the boat goes through the fjord into the open Atlantic Ocean is breathtaking and merits many shot  amd them the Humpback Whales are sighted !!!

It's not all icy cold, there's heat and energy too!

 (f the name of the country suggests ice and cold, there are plenty of hot springs or Geysirs  that dot the country side. The hot springs [robifr the country with *0% of its energy needs while the remaining 20% comes from hydropower, A truly sustainable form of powering the country

The Black Beach

 Through gusty winds  and bleak weather with a red alert not to go near the beach, the morning starts with a visit to the Black Beach in southern Iceland, The red alert gradually turns to orange, and the gates open for us to go near the beach, Some interesting opportunities for landscape photography with the massive waves lashing the shore giving  a special mood here!. This is followed by a visit to a Lava field
