Aurora Borealis

Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights is a a unique phenomenon that occurs in the Northern hemisphere at high latitudes and October in Iceland is considered a good time to see it, ideally it should be a moonless night, which we did not have but still got to enjoy it in both Pingelli National Park on the outskirts of Rekjavik as well as in the northern town of Akureryi. Loads of patence coupled with a camera that has a high ISO and increase in exposure compensation helps to capture this sight, However, just viewing it or using a small camera or phone also gives a great aha moment!

So here are some of the many shots that I could take on two nights, The city lights in the shots are those taken at Akureryi
